3 days 2 nights in Singapore
My parents had to attend a wedding invitation in Singapore. So, we tagged along and planned for a short holiday. At first, we plan to fly to Singapore but since it was very short notice, the ticket prices were unreasonable. So, we decided to drive. It was a 3 hours drive from Melaka. The kids were excited of course!
Rafael and Yousef in the car. We took a lot of selfies and played games on the way.
There are a list of things you need to know before driving your car to Singapore. Please refer here.
Our process was very smooth since we downloaded the forms and filled it up beforehand. It only took us around 10 minutes from queuing, immigration and entering Singapore. Super fast compared to our previous experience when we took the bus to enter Singapore. That time, it took us more than an hour of queuing at the immigration. Totally not recommended if you're travelling with kids and senior citizens.
Our first stop, Sentosa Island. We arrived during lunch hour, so let's eat! I forgot the name of the restaurant. It's one of the restaurant's around the SEA Aquarium and it is HALAL.
Yousef is having iced lemon tea while nenek is enjoying her milkshake.
My bawal penyet set. The fish was HUGE. It was very good. We all loved it.
My husband ordered spagetti aglio olio. The taste was average. Nothing special at all.
Afterwards, to the SEA Aquarium!!
We bought the tickets online at a discounted rate. You can refer here. It was the cheapest price I found online. Anyone can buy from the website. You don't need to be a Singaporean to purchase tickets from them.
The excited grandparents..
After spending around 2 hours in the aquarium, we had to rush to Greenwich. We had previously made an appointment to meet up with the airbnb owner. Everyone including my parents enjoyed the SEA Aquarium. Comparing to Aquaria KLCC, it is far better. There are lots of exhibits there, most importantly we got to see ikan kembung!! Out of thousands of fishes in the aquarium, we got really excited when we saw ikan kembung, hahaha..
Yousef enjoying the pool just in front of our rented unit in Greenwich V.
That night, we went to the night Safari. Queuing for the English tram took around 1 hour plus.
I personally would not recommend the night safari. It was dark, the kids couldn't enjoy looking at the animals. We went to the Singapore Zoo in our previous visit and it was superb beyond words! We kind of expecting the same for the night safari but felt really disappointed. Not recommended at all.
After the wedding, we headed back to the apartment to pray and rest. In the evening, we went out using the public transport. Public transport was very easy in Singapore. We just had to walk 100m to ride on the bus. We decided to have dinner at Murtabak Zam Zam. We had murtabak (of course) and fried bihun. Both was superb! We even ordered a seconds.
Sorry, no picture of the food. We were so hungry and forgot to take pictures.
Finally, on the last day, we had breakfast in the apartment and got ready to drove back to Melaka. It was a short holiday and time is very limited for us yet we enjoyed the whole trip. We get to enjoy the SEA aquarium, the good food, the public transport, etc. We would definitely look forward to another trip to Singapore in the future.
